Flakies :-)

Good morning! I am so excited to show you this mani - I did it yesterday and I am still obsessing over it!! I really don't want to take it off. Hopefully it will last at least a few more days!

I started with my Rimmel base coat, followed by two coats of NYC Plaza Plumberry.  The first coat was very streaky and the color was uneven, but the second coat smoothed everything out.  However, the second coat made the color MUCH darker - in real life, my nails look almost black.  But, I still love this mani!

After my dark plum base, I use one THICK coat of my brandy-new Jessica Gold Leaf 18k topcoat.  I had to use a thick coat because if I didn't almost no gold transferred onto my nail.  I'm sure I also could have dont two or three thinner top coats, but I have no patience and I wanted immediate results =P

While it gold leaf polish is a top coat, I wasn't sure how quickly it dried and how shiny it would be, so over the gold leaf top coat I added one coat of my trusty, super shiny NYC in a New York Minute quick drying top coat.

I am SO happy with the results!  I can't wait to try the gold leaf again with a different base color :) Stay tuned! :)

This obviously isn't blue, but I'm happy to now be a part of Monday Blues! :-)

    1. thank you british girl! ;-) I'm going on day 4 of rockin this mani :) And it hasn't chipped yet! I think it's how I applied my top coat. I think I figured out a way to make the polish last for at least a few days without chipping!

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my blog :)

  5. I didn't even know Jessica had done a gold leaf topper--of course, gold is not my fave metal so I haven't been paying close attention. :)
