I stole the idea for this mani from the queen of all things nails: The Nailasaurus. You can see her post here. Mine is similar, but with a different accent nail and a different design. I always saw how awesome the leopard print nails looked, and when my dotting tools finally came in the mail, I hardly could wait to look at a leopard print tutorial and try it out for myself! I was surprised how EASY this look was to achieve!
|pre - gradient touch-up/striping tape|
I used Rimmel's Lasting Finish nail polish base & top coat as a base (I never actually use this one as my top coat ... way too sticky!). I used three coats of Spoiled by Wet n' Wild's Cougar Attack on my thumb and ring fingers. On my ring finger, I used striping tape to make the design and painted over that with a coat of Covergirl always naked. Two coats of Covergirl always naked are on my pinky, middle, and pointer, with a gradient using Cougar Attack on my pinky and pointer. For my middle accent nail, I started with a medium-sized dotting tool and made irregular shapes on my nail using Cougar Attack. Once that was semi-dry, I took a smaller dotting tool and outlined the spots in Wet n' Wild's wild shine black creme. I finished everything off with NYC's In a New York Minute Grand Central Station quick dry top coat. Enjoy! :-)
