Late Halloween Post!

Happy Halloween, Lacquerbeanz!

Today's mummycure (see what I did there?) comes to you from Emily De Molly Oceanic Forces.  Sorry about the stinky photos... I uploaded them straight from my phone... but who cares because CHECK OUT THAT ADORABLE MUMMY!

I taped off the mummy design with striping tape and painted over it with OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. Then I used my handy-dandy dotting tools for the little eyeballs. I loveeeee it! =)

OK, all... I'm off to go eat twix & reese's cups until I explode. =P

Priti NYC Dusk In Paris Collection

Press Sample

Good morning, Lacquerbeanz!

As school continues to kick my out-of-shape butt, I am still somehow managing to swatch some great polishes! Today I have Priti NYC's Dusk In Paris collection. All swatches are topped with Glisten & Glow HK Girl Topcoat.

First up is my favorite, Italian Alder: A gorgeous medium/dark-gray creme that applies like a dream. Shown here is two coats of Italian Alder.

Next up is High Hopes, an absolutely stunning baby pink creme. Application was flawless for this one, as well. Swatches below show two coats.

Paper Birch is an awesome taupey-light-brown creme with some subtle shimmer. This one looks WAY better on the nail than it does in the bottle... I love it! No complaints about application for this one. Swatches below show two coats.

And last, but certainly not least, is Silver Birch, a light gray/silver creme with shimmer. Application was good for this one, as well. Swatches show two coats.

That's all for today, folks! Do you love this collection as much as I do!? All Priti NYC nail polish retails for $13.50 and can be purchased directly from their website (www.pritinyc.com).

DOCTOR'S ORDERS: Feeling down? Pick it up with High Hopes! This gorgeous baby pink creme should do the trick!

Until next time!

Happy Hump Day, Lacquerbeanz! I am trying to stay positive amidst the start of my new 8-week course that is 4 days a week, and ... wait for it... 6 HOURS A DAY. YES. SIX. HOURS. A. DAY.

The class is called Genes and Molecules in Medicine and it is to prepare us for medical school. WOWIES! But, so far, so good - I am keeping up with studying and I even have a little bit of time at night to paint my nails while I'm re-watching the lectures. :-)

Today I have some swatches of Priti NYC Buschwick Red. It is my new favorite red! It is a perfect bright red. Shown here is two coats with a leopard accent nail.

That's all I have for today, folks! Stay tuned for Friday's post of Priti NYC's full Dusk In Paris Collection! =)

Monday Blues: NYC Water Street Blue Half Moon

Happy Monday, Lacquerbeanz!

Today's Monday Blues mani is one that came about as a result of studying and boredom. I was sitting in my basement studying, and I kept looking over at the nail polish rack and eventually I just grabbed three polishes and started painting my nails. HAHA! I was too lazy to get any base coat or nail guides, so this is all free-handed. Let's take a look!

I started off with a coat of Sally Hansen Knockout Pink, and once that was dry i painted NYC Water Street Blue over it, creating the half-moon shape. Then, I added some gold hexes and jazzed up the accent nail with Glitter Bunny Polish Don't Be Such A Guppy. I topped everything off with some of my favorite Glisten & Glow HK Girl.

Until next time!

Fall Leaves Nail Art

Happy Hump Day, Lacquerbeanz!

A few weeks ago, I experimented with acrylic paints for the first time on my nails, and this is what happened! :-)

I still need to figure out how some ladies make the acrylic paint look so smooth and even... but I suppose that comes with practice. What do you think? Do you have any tips for using acrylic paint?

My favorite thing about acrylic paint is that if you mess up you can rub it off and start over! =P

Glimmer By Erica: Happy Halloween Collection

Oooooh, do I have a treat for you all today! I have Glimmer By Erica's Happy Halloween Collection!

Oftentimes, I see a collection and I can pick out one or two favorites, and the others are just..bleh. But this collection is seriously amazing! There is not a single polish I wouldn't buy! (Mom, hide my wallet)

First up is Halloween Night: a bright, glittery Glimmer that is perfect for halloween! It is a clear base with purple and orange glitters, purple, orange, and black holograhic glitters, and large silver holographic dots. This is PACKED with glitter, as are most GBEs, but this one is so dense you can definitely layer it to opacity by itself in two or three coats. Shown below is one coat of Halloween Night over light pink.

Next we have Haunted: a black holographic glitters and blue\green shredded iridescent glitters. I am not a fan of shreds, but I loved this glitter topper! Swatches below shoe one coat of Haunted over black.

The third glitter topper of the collection is Ghosts In The Machine: a scary mix of silver, gunmetal, black holographic and various sizes and colors of iridescent glitters. The swatches below show 2 thinner coats of Ghosts In The Machine over light gray.

The last two polishes of this collection are jellies with glitters mixed in. First we have Heart Of Flames: a black jelly base with red and orange glitters, and red and orange holographic glitters. It looks absolutely GORGEOUS on the nail! Below I have three thin coats of Heart Of Flames.

And last, but CERTAINLY not least, we have Black Magic Woman: a bright witchy red jelly Glimmer with red, red holographic, and black holographic glitters. Swatches below show three coats of Black Magic Woman.

You can find more polishes from Glimmer By Erica in her Etsy Shop and on Llarowe.

What do you guys think? Are you as obsessed with this collection as I am? Which are you going to buy?

Monday Blues: Julep Char

Yikes! I haven't done a Monday Blues post in a while! It's crunch time for exams, and you can bet your little bums I'm crunching my brains out studying! =P

I did, of course, take a break (or several breaks) to paint my nails, though. Here's a swatch of Julep Char - it's gorgeous!! I used Orly Halo as an accent. What do you think?

I love it! Sometimes I totally crave a simple look.

Until next time, Lacquerbeanz!

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Swatches - Part 2

Press Sample

Happy humpday, Lacquerbeanz! =P

Today I have three more polishes to show you from Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure line. [see three more in this post] These polishes retail anywhere from $6 - $8 and are available at most drugstores.

First up is Grey-t Escape: a lovely muted nude shade in grayish-pink. Application for this one was fabulous, and I used two coats with topcoat for these swatches.

Next up is Trouble Maker: a gorgeous dusty plum creme. No problems with application with this one, either. Swatches show two coats with topcoat.

And finally, we have I Lilac You: a light dusty lilac creme. This one was another great formula with easy application. Swatches below are two coats with topcoat. =)

There you have it! What do you think of these colors? I love all three, but I think Grey-t Escape is my surprise favorite of the bunch!

Until next time!
