ANOTHER winter snowstorm is going to hit NJ tonight! I love love love snow, but I hate hate hate all of the inconveniences it creates. =( I am all bundled up on the couch writing this post, and I have no intention of moving until the storm subsides tomorrow morning! =P I wasn't going to write this post until tomorrow, but hey, why not, right?
Today I have for you the Winter 2013 collection from Glitterfied Nails. Andrea, the owner and creator of the polishes, opted for a non-traditional color scheme, and she did a FABULOUS job! It's always nice to take a break from your classic reds and greens. Let's have a look!
First up is one of my favorites from the collection: Sugarplum. This glitter topped is full of light purple and pink hexes in various sizes, as well as some lovely iridescent squares. I took one look at this polish and KNEW I had to do a glitter gradient over light pink! The formula was really fantastic on this one - I didn't need to do any fishing at all to achieve this gradient look. Easy peasy lemon squeezy! This swatch, along with all of the swatches you'll see today, are topped with my favorite HK Girl topcoat.
Next up is Figgy Pudding (love the name!). I am not a fan of shimmer bases, so I was totally SHOCKED at how much I loved this polish! This bronzey-plum beauty was opaque in three thin coats. It has a great formula, but as with most shimmer bases, make sure you wait a minute or two in between coats to avoid bald spots and streaking.
Hot Cocoa is what is in my giant mug at the moment, and is also the name of the next polish! =P Another cute glitter topper with a great formula. Again, no fishing needed! This mix of glitters features brown, bronze, white, and holographic glitters in lots of different sizes and shapes. Swatches show one coat of Hot Cocoa over a nude creme.
Next up is Golden Star, a gorgeous glitter topper with gold and iridescent glitters and white shards in a clear base. Again, no problems with application! Swatches show one coat of Golden Star over black (Zoya Raven).
Liquid Gold is a yellowy-gold shimmer polish. You can purchase this one either individually or in a set with Golden Star for all you gold-lovers out there! Swatches show two thin coats. Again, as with most shimmery, pearly metallics, you should wait a few minutes in between coats for the best results.
Finally, we have Silver Bells, a silver pearl base with micro-fine green and red glitters. Again, application is fine as long as you wait a few minutes in between coats! Swatches show three thin coats.
That's all for today, folks! Netflix is calling my name! =P Stay warm!
